Raphael Varane is set for a \u2018few weeks\u2019 out with a muscle injury he picked upin defeat to Chelsea last week, confirm Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman was substituted at half-time of the 4-3 loss to the Blues and he missed the dramatic 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have confirmed that the centre-back is certainly going to miss the next four matches in April but hopes to return in May, before the end of the seaosn.<\/p>\n

Erik ten Hag\u2019s side still have seven more Premier League matches to play this season, while they are in the FA Cup semi-finals against Coventry, so Varane could still have a part to play late in the campaign.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/a> report that Varane\u2019s contract \u2013 which is worth \u00a3340,000-a-week \u2013 comes to an end in June and, although the club may offer him a new deal it won\u2019t be on the same amount of money.<\/p>\n

The report suggests that Varane is more likely to leave than stay at this point, so there may not be many more games in a Manchester United shirt for him.<\/p>\n

Jonny Evans is also sidelined with a muscle problem, although a less serious one, but will sit out the clash with Bournemouth this Saturday.<\/p>\n

The two defenders join a string of other players on the injury list, with Tyrell Malacia, Luke SHaw, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial all out as well.<\/p>\n

French teenager Willy Kambwala partnered Harry Maguire at centre-back against Liverpool and he may well do so again at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Ten Hag takes his side to Bournemouth on Saturday as they look for their first win in four matches in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
