Shaun Murphy tells players considering leaving the World Snooker Tour that they should \u2018be careful what they wish for\u2019 as uncertainty could await them.<\/p>\n

There have been plenty of rumours of a breakaway tour circling, with Judd Trump revealing he had been approached but dismissed the idea of leaving WST.<\/p>\n

Mark Williams has been teasing that he may not be playing on the main tour next season, but nothing has been announced of a rumoured new circuit or who would be playing on it.<\/p>\n

Murphy is well aware of the rumours but says he knows little about the venture and has not been approached to play himself.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s obviously something we\u2019re talking about. We\u2019ve heard a lot about it. I haven\u2019t been approached by anybody, I don\u2019t know anything about it,\u2019 he said. \u2018Nobody\u2019s rung me. <\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m led to believe some players have signed NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) not to talk about it. I saw my name mentioned in despatches that I have. I haven\u2019t. I don\u2019t know anything about it and will finish this season and look to return to the tour next season.<\/p>\n

\u2018I haven\u2019t got any interest in it. As far as I\u2019m aware it doesn\u2019t exist. I haven\u2019t seen anything about it. If that changes I\u2019ll let you know, but at the moment I don\u2019t know anything about it. It\u2019s all rumour and hearsay, which I haven\u2019t got time for.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t think many of us do the game any favours talking about these things. It\u2019s just conjecture and rumour. These people who have been approached know more than I do. I was pleased to see Judd nail his colours to the mast. He\u2019s obviously been approached. That\u2019s more than me.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ronnie O\u2019Sullivan will not be joining any rival tour after signing an agreement with Saudi Arabia, but he has backed any players to take whatever offer they feel is best for them and their families.<\/p>\n

Murphy can see why players late in their career might be tempted by an offer of guaranteed money elsewhere, but suggests that might show a lack of loyalty.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve seen comments from players saying they\u2019ve got to make choices for their families and what suits them. I think that\u2019s right,\u2019 said the Magician. \u2018These players have had their time, maybe, they\u2019ve had their years. <\/p>\n

\u2018They\u2019ve taken and taken and taken from the sport and they want to take even more. Good luck to them. It\u2019s a shame they haven\u2019t considered putting a little bit more back into the tour that\u2019s given them so much before they run away.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I know very little about it. I\u2019d be scared to comment on it really because I don\u2019t know enough about it. I assume these players are being paid a lot of money and who am I to say they shouldn\u2019t be taking it. I half understand it.\u2019<\/p>\n
