{"id":5609,"date":"2024-04-30T03:38:52","date_gmt":"2024-04-30T03:38:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/internationalpulse.net\/?p=5609"},"modified":"2024-04-30T03:38:52","modified_gmt":"2024-04-30T03:38:52","slug":"kyren-wilson-considering-options-after-breakaway-snooker-tour-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/internationalpulse.net\/?p=5609","title":{"rendered":"Kyren Wilson considering options after breakaway snooker tour offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\" img-container shareable-item wp-caption\" style=\"max-width:540px\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n<p><img decoding=\"sync\" width=\"644\" height=\"429\" data-rsz=\"shrink\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GettyImages-2150583869.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;zoom=1&amp;resize=644%2C429\" alt=\"Cazoo World Snooker Championship 2024 - Day Nine\" class=\"wp-image-20739910\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/>\n<\/div><figcaption>Kyren Wilson is weighing up his snooker future (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kyren Wilson has confirmed he has received a firm offer to play in events away from World Snooker Tour and is currently keeping his options open over his future.<\/p>\n<p>Rumours of a breakaway tour \u2013 with significant guaranteed money for players \u2013 were circling when the World Championship began and have grown louder over the event.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/04\/24\/barry-hearn-dismisses-threat-breakaway-tour-sends-message-players-20712444\/\">Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn addressed the threat, while Judd Trump confirmed he was contacted but rejected the approach.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson has also received an offer, but was not so clear on whether he would remain with WST or jump ship.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he had been contacted with an offer by rival tour backers, he said: \u2018Yeah. I think a lot of the players have. It\u2019s a good position for snooker. I think it shows the strength and the popularity and the demand. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s something that\u2019s probably never really been seen before and it\u2019s very interesting. It\u2019s obviously turning a few heads. I want to become a world champion. I want those opportunities. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018But then on the flipside, you do have to take things into account. You have got families to provide for. We have never had these opportunities before. I think it is something that players do need to think very carefully about.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Obviously I have come into the World Championship fully focused on this tournament. What will be will be for me. I am very comfortable in my life, where my career is at. I haven\u2019t given it much time or much consideration. Perhaps it is something I will look at more seriously after the World Championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018That\u2019s something I will sit down with the family and analyse. I am so far off what I want to achieve. I have not landed any Triple Crown events. I have come so close. I have said previously I wouldn\u2019t be happy if I won just one world title. I still want those opportunities. I need to sit down and analyse what is best for my snooker.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018One of the things that is obviously at the forefront of my mind is still having the opportunity to become a world champion. That\u2019s a real big thing in terms of a future decision.
