{"id":7700,"date":"2024-05-06T23:18:50","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T23:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/internationalpulse.net\/?p=7700"},"modified":"2024-05-06T23:18:50","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T23:18:50","slug":"jak-jones-reveals-nightmare-preparation-for-world-snooker-championship-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/internationalpulse.net\/?p=7700","title":{"rendered":"Jak Jones reveals nightmare preparation for World Snooker Championship final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\" img-container shareable-item wp-caption\" style=\"max-width:540px\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"sync\" width=\"644\" height=\"429\" data-rsz=\"shrink\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/GettyImages-2151774047.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;zoom=1&amp;resize=644%2C429\" alt=\"Cazoo World Snooker Championship 2024 - Day Seventeen\" class=\"wp-image-20787149\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/>\n<\/div><figcaption>Jak Jones was not in a good place at the start of the Crucible final (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/jak-jones\/?ico=auto_link_sport_P1_LNK1\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Jak Jones was up for the entire night ahead of the World Snooker Championship final, which makes his nightmare start to the game entirely understandable.<\/p>\n<p>The qualifier caused a string of surprises as he made his way to the final, beating Zhang Anda, Si Jiahui, Judd Trump and Stuart Bingham at the Crucible.<\/p>\n<p>Kyren Wilson was waiting for him there and the Warrior got off to a dream start against the underdog, racing into a 7-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>After the first session the rest of the game was almost even, with Wilson eventually prevailing 18-14, after Jones produced a fantastically spirited fightback.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u2019s semi-final win over Dave Gilbert finished in the afternoon session on Saturday, allowing him to be tucked up in bed early later that night.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, Jones\u2019 victory over Bingham finished in the evening and after media obligations it became a late night which proved to be a sleepless one.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t really want to make excuses because I would have lost anyway. So when I came for the first session, I didn\u2019t even feel like I was playing a semi-final, I just felt flat. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I didn\u2019t go to sleep. I just stayed wide awake. I never drink Red Bull, I tried to use that to get me through, but it didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018That\u2019s the way it is. Kyren probably would have beat me anyway. His plan to capitalise on the situation went perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I knew how tired I felt when I played Ronnie,\u2019 said Wilson. \u2018That first session I was totally drained so I had an inkling that Jack would feel similar. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I had a good look at him just before we started the final and thought, right this is the time. I felt great, I had a fantastic night sleep, plenty of rest.
