Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak this summer \u2013 even though he believes the Newcastle United star would cost as much as \u00a3100m signing Declan Rice.<\/p>\n

While Arsenal have mounted back-to-back Premier League title challenges under Mikel Arteta, the north Londoners acknowledge that more backing in the transfer market will be needed to keep pace with Manchester City and stay ahead of the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle.<\/p>\n

The Gunners spent over \u00a3200m on new signings last summer, bringing Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber to the Emirates Stadium as well as England midfielder Rice, who became the club\u2019s record signing following his move from West Ham.<\/p>\n

Parlour believes Arsenal may need to match Rice\u2019s \u00a3100m fee this summer as he urged his former club to prise Isak away from Newcastle in order to solve their striker issues.<\/p>\n

Isak, 24, has been one of the most impressive and exciting players in the Premier League over the past two seasons, scoring 34 goals for Newcastle.<\/p>\n

\u2018Isak is the type of player who could do well in this Arsenal team,\u2019 Gunners legend Parlour told Football FanCast <\/em>on behalf of\u00a0NetBet Sports Betting.<\/p>\n

\u2018He will suit Arsenal\u2019s fluid style of play and can do well in this team with the likes of [Bukayo] Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Kai] Havertz, [Leandro] Trossard and [Martin] Odegaard supporting him.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s important to have quality strikers as we had in our era with Wiltord, Kanu, Henry and Bergkamp.\u00a0However, Newcastle will not want to lose their top striker.<\/p>\n

\u2018Fee wise, he will be similar to Rice\u2019s fee, so if Newcastle are forced to sell, then yes he would take Arsenal forward. Isak is a player I like a lot.\u2019<\/p>\n

Parlour believes Isak can emulate Rice, who has hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium following his big-money move from West Ham last summer.<\/p>\n
