Takara Roulette Controller PlayStation Portable Mod
Sure, you could mod a PlayStation Portal, but Hairo Satoh wanted something more unique. So, he turned an obscure Japan-exclusive Takara Roulette controller for the PS1, released in 2001, into a functional PlayStation Portable of sorts.

This custom handheld features a small LCD screen, a memory card slot, Left / Right back triggers, a volume wheel, stereo speakers, and a USB-C charging port. The Takara Roulette controller worked so well as a handheld console because there was an originally a ‘Game of Life’-style spinner in the center, and with that gone, Hairo was able to work his magic and create something that wouldn’t look out of place in a Sony museum.
