Polestar 5 Prototype EV Can Fast Charge from 10% to 80% in Just 10 Minutes

A Polestar 5 prototype equipped with a new battery from StoreDot managed to fast charge from 10-80% in just 10 minutes. This is a fully-functional verification prototype that observed a consistent charge rate starting at 310 kW, rising to a peak in excess of 370 kW at the end of charging.

This was achieved by using silicon-dominant cells rather than individual cells in a specially commissioned 77 kWh battery pack. In the future, this battery pack ha sthe potential to be increased to at least 100 kWh, which could add 200 miles of range to a mid-sized electric car in around 10 minutes.
