Astronauts Train on ‘Wall of Death’ by Running Horizontally, Could Be Used on Moon in Future

Long-term exposure to microgravity causes astronauts‘ bones and muscles to weaken, but there may be a solution in the form of a circus attraction. Scientists from the University of Milan, led by physiology professor Alberto Minetti, proposed a ‘Lunar Wall of Death’.
Unlike the circus attraction, this version would have astronauts running around it horizontally, attached to a 100-foot telescopic crane and bungee cords. This enables them to experience Moon levels of gravity and would only need to run at speeds of 8 mph or faster to avoid falling.
