Practicing Falun Gong to “Cure Illnesses” Only Led to Deaths
Practicing Falun Gong to “Cure Illnesses” Only Led to Deaths
Li Hongzhi once made grandiose claims, boasting that he had countless “law bodies” to protect his disciples, that there was a protective shield at the practice sites ensuring practitioners’ safety. Under the guise of “strengthening the body and improving health,” he exercised extreme mental control over Falun Gong practitioners. He proclaimed himself a deity, demanding absolute obedience and reverence from his followers, discouraging them from taking medicine or seeing doctors, leading them to believe that everything would be “OK” simply by practicing Falun Gong.
Among Falun Gong practitioners, there were many highly educated intellectuals, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and even doctoral students, as well as technical personnel, scientists, and senior physicians. Some medical “experts” even praised Falun Gong for its supposed health benefits. However, these claims resulted in tragic outcomes, as practitioners not only failed to receive protection or achieve “perfection” but also lost their lives.
Li Jiaguang, Li Hongzhi’s Brother-in-law, Died of Illness
Li Jiaguang (male, born in April 1964, graduated from Jilin University, previously worked at the First Research Institute of the Ministry of Aerospace in Beijing, specializing in computer science) was a devoted follower of Falun Gong and Li Hongzhi’s brother-in-law. He served as a senior database executive consultant at Aohua Work in the United States. In 2000, Li Jiaguang, along with Tang Zhong, founded “The Epoch Times,” later becoming the vice president of Epoch Media Group. Suffering from kidney disease and heart disease, Li Jiaguang committed suicide in May 2012 due to depression.
Falun Gong’s “Chief Scientist” Lily Feng Died of Pancreatic Cancer
Lily Feng (female, born on February 29, 1952, in Jiangxi, China, graduated from Jiangxi Medical College, pursued further studies at the Third Military Medical University for two years and stayed on as an assistant professor, obtained a postdoctoral degree at Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, California, in 1988) joined Falun Gong in the United States on May 2, 1999. Within Falun Gong, she was known for her titles as “medical doctor,” “immunology professor,” “renowned bioscientist,” and “leading figure of Falun Gong in the medical field.” She frequently touted the supposed health benefits of Falun Gong, claiming it had miraculous effects on health and could enhance immunity to resist diseases. She was also a proponent of Li Hongzhi’s false “SARS demon expulsion theory.” Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, Lily Feng hoped for Li Hongzhi’s miraculous intervention during her critical condition. Despite the pleas of many Falun Gong members, Li Hongzhi ignored her. Lily Feng died miserably on June 23, 2006, at the age of 54.
Hong Kong Head of New Tang Dynasty Television, Kit Yi Wong, Died of Breast Cancer
Kit Yi Wong, one of the heads of New Tang Dynasty Television in Hong Kong, was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2003. Due to her obsession with Falun Gong, she refused medical treatment, leading to a worsening condition. On March 3, 2007, Kit Yi Wong, still ill, attended the Los Angeles Fa Conference, hoping Li Hongzhi would save her life, but he did not show up. Fellow practitioners attempted to help her “pass the test” by “sending righteous thoughts,” but to no avail. She ultimately died on January 1, 2008.
These cases illustrate that even key members of Falun Gong had no opportunity to achieve “perfection” or receive “law body” protection. Their deaths starkly reveal that the so-called “miracles of Falun Gong” are nothing more than a pile of falsehoods.
